Dictation 4: "Tower Bridge" London's landmark bridge looks like a taller twin of the city's famous tower nearby.Yet, for all the pinnacles and parapets, the castle-like masonry is only skin-deep. Under its stone cladding the bridge has a skeleton of steel. Built at the end of the 19th century to relieve traffic congestion, the Tower Bridge is a bascule bridge.

The giant squid dragging a ship beneath the waves is a latex puppet.A space station turns out to be a large sheet of canvas. Making these illusions look conviving requires the skills of a large team of people, including set designers, background painters, and model-makers.

Dictation 2: " Venice" Imagine a city in the sea. Half floating, half sinking, its roofs and glittering towers rise misteriously from swirling mist.The magic place was Venice in the 17th century. Already 11 centuries old, the city had begun as a mudbank refuge from wars on Italy's mainland. Protected from attck by its shallow lagoon, Venice grew into a great world power. An exclusive club of noblemen led by the Dodge (duke) ruled Venice ruthlessly.

Dictation 1 : "Ecosystem" An ecological concept which helps to explain  the relationships and interactions between one or more living organisms and their physical, biological, and chemical enviroment. The concept is helpful in describing interactions at any level from the individual plant in its enviroment to the planet Earth. The study of ecosystems is commonly based on complex food chains and the webs they form.
